Intro to Textile Printing
September 22 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm$150
Do you love making things by hand, drawing and playing with color? If so, then this class is for you!
In this hands-on creative workshop students will be introduced to printing on fabric using a variety of techniques, such as photographic silkscreen printing, printing using paper stencils and monotype printing. Students will leave with a collection of their own unique handprinted fabric swatches that they can use for sewing projects, home decor purposes or to display in their artistic portfolio.
- All supplies included but students are encouraged to bring their own fabrics; Medium/light weight cotton or cotton blends are ideal, can be any color but lighter colors give more options when choosing ink colors.
- All drawing supplies provided and we will create artwork in the classroom. However, if students have a sketchbook, design ideas and previous drawings they are more than welcome to bring them! No previous experience necessary.
- Bring a smock/apron or wear something that won’t matter if you get ink stains on it. We will be working with highly pigmented, non-toxic waterbased inks.
- Bring your own lunch. Coffee, tea and lighter snacks provided throughout the day.
